If one of our pre-planned tours is not what you are looking for, the JTX hiking guide service can customize a hike to your ability and the trail characteristics you like.
Here are some options:
* Upper Switchback Trail (easy/moderate)
* Appalachian Trail (difficult)
* Lehigh Canal Path (easy)
* Switchback & Ridge Trails loop (moderate)
* Miner's Loop (difficult)
* Shoreline & Ridge Trails loop (difficult)
* Mt. Pisgah climb (difficult)
* Hickory Run State Park trails
Hickory Run State Park has many beautiful areas, and we’ll pick from several options for the day's exploration: A short hike to a waterfall for a warm-up, then there are several great trail loops overlooking the Lehigh Gorge – we’ll choose one based on time and other hikes. A visit to Boulder Field is a must – we can hike to it or drive there (so we can hike more of the other trails). This hiking tour is a great way to see the best of Hickory Run – a really nice park with a surprising history – and still be back around 4pm for a rest before dinner.
Below is a list of JTX Committment dates: some of these are dates are not available due to other commitments or the tours are fully-booked; some are tours that are already scheduled, but not fully-booked, so you may be able to join if the tour interests you.
IF THERE IS NOTHING LISTED NEXT TO A DATE (or a range of dates) THEN THERE IS NOTHING SCHEDULED FOR THAT TIME... it is available for your tour!
Water, Water, Everywhere! A great 2-day adventure tour featuring two of the wettest and most beautiful parts of the Jim Thorpe area: the amazing Glen Onoko waterfall hike and a kayak trip on the the bottom (3rd) section of the Lehigh River Gorge. One day we'll ascend the challenging waterfall trail in Glen Onoko, with its 4 main falls and plethora of cascades, enjoying the cold water as it splashes down from above us. There's a surprising amount of history and legend involved in the Glen Onoko hike, which is only told by JTX.
